Like Castaway, only with less beard hair.

2016-08-04 18.49.51-2I’d like to introduce you to Tim.  Tim is my best friend.  He’s a racquetball. Yes, I’m weird, I’ve heard. Tim goes with me most everywhere. He likes to bounce along with me when I take the dog for a walk.  He likes to bounce off the wall and return to me when I sit on the couch.  He also likes to stare at me with that eternal optimistic grin of his.  Sometimes I like to squeeze him over and over when I’m concentrating on something. I have to be careful though because he suffered a left eye injury in a horrible accident. My dog tried to grab him when I was marking his eye on.

Why did I name him Tim you ask? (You probably didn’t but I’m going to tell you anyway.) I know a guy named Tim and his last name is Spaulding. The Spaulding company makes volleyballs just like ….

Wilson

I didn’t want to rip Castaway off so hence the name Tim. I know he doesn’t quite measure up to a volleyball but I want him to dream big.  Besides, have you ever tried to squeeze a volleyball over and over?  Talk about your Carpel Tunnel.

  1. Dang. I saw Tim and right now he looks just like me. My left eye’s tear duct is blocked and I have been steady crying out of that eye for 2 weeks now. I literally saw Tim and said “That is me right now. How does Coggy know?”

And Tim is my boss’s name and we always say we could replace Tim with an inanimate object, and I think you just need to get out of my head right now 🙂

  2. Back when “Castaway” was still in theaters someone pointed out to me that “Wilson” was the name of TIM Allen’s neighbor on “Home Improvement”.
So while it’s a bit of a stretch you might still be ripping off “Castaway”.
    Or not.
All I really know is both Wilsons were full of fascinating insights and fun to talk to.

    1. You know, we never really did see anything but the top of neighbor Wilson’s head. Maybe he was a dressed up volleyball too. Mind blown!

  3. Hahaha. I have a sneaking suspicion you and I would be good friends outside of the internet! This post is amazing and Tim made me happy simply by looking at his little green face. The trauma he must have endured is not evident at all, and I am thoroughly impressed by his resilience and nothing-is-gonna-get-me-down attitude. We can all learn a lot from Tim. Thanks for introducing me to this little super ball!

    1. I have the same suspicion. 🙂 Thank you very much for the comment. Unfortunately Tim is no longer with me. At first, I thought he got lost and I turned the house upside down looking for him to no avail. Now I think maybe he moved on to bring joy to somebody else’s life. That, or my dogs were jealous and did away with him. I prefer to think the former. I’ve considered creating Tim Jr. but I’m just not quite sure it would be the same.
