Paperback (and eBook) Writer

Paperback (and eBook) Writer

I’m a published author! Woohoo! I can’t believe it. I actually conceived an idea, wrote about it, finished writing about it, had it edited, did re-writes, did more editing, and published it! It’s been two years in the making but among the many other DOA projects I started, this one is finished! I know I’ve talked about working on this novel a few times before, but for the newbies I’ll just post my book summary below.

A man and his dog set out for adventure along the Appalachian Trail. When a chance encounter puts them in the crosshairs of a rogue ranger, they get more adventure than they had planned. In order to escape with one’s freedom and the other’s life, they must go on Sawyer’s Run!

Now, who wouldn’t want to read about that? Wait, don’t answer that question! For those of you who do want to read it you can get it from Amazon as an eBook or paperback. If you have Kindle Unlimited you can even read it for free!

I’d like to thank all of you who encouraged me over the past two years. I’d also like to think my wife, Michelle, who supported me through the whole thing and understood my total lack of real world awareness when I was off in my fantasy writing world.

One final thank you to my editor Kristine Laco. You might recognize her from her hilarious blog Adulting In Progress. It’s hard to hand your baby off to someone else but she treated it kindly and between the two of us I think we raised it right! If you ever need an editor I highly recommend Kristine. Her services are available here.

Now that this project is finished (even though I’m working on a new one), I plan on spending a little more time back in the blogosphere. You all must feel I have abandoned you. Sorry about that. Hopefully you’ll welcome this prodigal son home.

For those of you who do read my book, please leave a review on Amazon. I’m an independently published author and Amazon uses reviews to promote these books. Thanks and I hope you enjoy it.

  1. That’s wonderful! Congratulations! I promise I will buy the paperback (no smart devices in my hemisphere) at a soon to be date, but with the paperwork I’ve got to wade through because of Ken’s passing, I’m looking at reams of crap for the near future. And then there’s the government (shudder).

But I am on the alert and can and will watch the next video or whatever else you now have time to accomplish. Thank you to you and Kristine for your kind and sympathetic words.

  2. Woo hoo!! So proud of you. I loved the book and was honoured to have you trust me with your word baby (and the shout-out was fun too). I downloaded it on my Kindle last night to see what you did with it once I kicked it back to you. Keep writing, my friend. One is not enough 🙂

    1. Thank you again! I can’t wait to read yours. I’m already working on the outline for Finn’s adventure. I might even resurrect the memoir I’ve been working off and on for over 20 years.

  3. That’s so awesome! Isn’t it a rush? I’m actually addicted to publishing. You’d think I would write more to keep getting that rush, but no. I’m a lazy bastard.

  4. Congratulations! Such a cool achievement. Just got the ebook (although it will have to sit in my To Read folder for a little while, I’m afraid, since I have a stack of books waiting for me just now). Keen to read!

  5. Grabbed me a paperback version, brotha. I have no doubt it will be an excellent deck-time read. I’ll post up a review when completed. Good job, man!
