Looked like a Walking Stick, not a Praying Mantis, but I dislike all bugs and figure it’s safer to be far away from them, just in case. Looked like a nice hike for you. After looking at the video I think you are right about it being a stick bug. It certainly looked like one. I think that will be my last overnight backpack trip until after the transplant. Making those trips have gotten really tough on me lately.
